In the quarterfinals, the Brandon Vincent Massey Vikings clubbed the Warren Wildcats 65-10 as Sharon Lukiw scored 20. The Vikings superior size proved an enormous obstacle for the Wildcats, who failed to score a field goal until shortly before the end of the first half. “That’s one down and five to go,” Vikings coach Stew Farnell told the Brandon Sun. The Wildcats (coached by Dennis Clym) included Donna Malmas, Cathy Stewart, Sheilagh Ryan, Elizabeth Hueging, Jo-Anne Rutherford, Wendy McDonnell, Wilma Comrie, Debbie Neale, Lynn MacGillivray, Kathryn McDonnell, Sharon Lindsay and Brenda Manness.

The Hamiota Huskies defeated the Altona W.C. Miller Acettes 38-31 in overtime as Edie Clark scored 11. The Acettes led 23-17 after three quarters but the Huskies rallied to a 31-26 lead before the Acettes closed out regulation with a 5-0 run to force overtime. Edie Clarke hit a field goal and a free throw in the extra session and then the Huskies stalled out the remainder of the session. “If we’d played like this in our zone, we would never have gotten this far,” Huskies coach Reverend Ralph Clarke told the Brandon Sun. The Acettes (coached by Nancy Zabirka) included Carol Enns.

The St. Norbert Celtics dusted the Flin Flon Hapnot Kopper Kweens 57-19 as Colette Olivier scored 21.

In the last quarterfinal, Swan River Collegiate defeated Portage La Prairie 40-22.

In the semis, the Brandon Vincent Massey Vikings dumped the Hamiota Huskies 39-29. The score was knotted at 22 with two minutes to play in the third quarter when the Vikings ripped off the decisive 5-1 run. “We were lucky we were only down points after the half,” Vikings coach Stew Farnell told the Brandon Sun. “All the foul shots they missed.” The Huskies were 4-22 from the line.

In the other semi, the St. Norbert Celtics stomped Swan River Collegiate 57-34.

        In the final, the Brandon Vincent Massey Vikings defeated the St. Norbert Celtics 43-28 after leading 25-13 at the half. “That was the complete game,” Vikings coach Stew Farnell told the Brandon Sun. “The girls finally put it all together. … Dauna (Cutforth) really caught fire tonight. I’ve been waiting all year for her to play like that.” Cutforth scored 13 on 7-8 from the line. The Vikings finished (31-4) on the season.
