In the quarterfinals, the 3rd-seeded Warren Wildcats edged the 6th-seeded Niverville Panthers 62-58. Brad Murray led Niverville with 20. Connor Screpnek added 17. The Panthers also included Jordan Screpnek.
The 5th-seeded Boissevain Broncos clipped the 4th-seeded Roblin Goose Lake Raiders 67-55 as Kevin Smith and Randy Lilley each scored 18. The Raiders (coached by police constable Trevor Martin) also included Jonathan Arndt.
The 2nd-seeded Hodgson Peguis Wolverines thrashed the 7th-seeded Gretna Mennonite Collegiate Institute Blues 64-39. Richard Toews paced MCI with 13. The Blues also included Aaron Loeppky.
The top-seeded Forrest Elton Sabres crushed the 9th-seeded Carman Cougars 86-22.
In the semis, Warren Wildcats nipped the Hodgson Peguis Wolverines 63-60.
In the other semi, the top-seeded Forrest Elton Sabres whipped the 5th-seeded Boissevain Broncos 87-44 as Pat Thompson scored 33.
In the bronze medal match, the 2nd-seeded Hodgson Peguis Wolverines edged the 5th-seeded Boissevain Broncos 54-39 as Brendan McCorrister scored 17. Randy Lilley scored 18 and Kevin Smith 17 to lead Boissevain.
In the final, the top-seeded Forrest Elton Sabres clipped the 3rd-seeded Warren Wildcats 66-54 as Pat Thompson scored 19. Thompson noted that “everybody’s gunning to get you and we pulled through this time and we’ve got a gold to go with it. It’s nice going out on top.” Sabres coach Will Lamont said “the pressure was knowing we were going to be facing someone tough in the final. We had played all the teams with the exception of one and I felt our guys were peaking for this situation when we were preparing for playoffs.”
