In the quarterfinals, the Portage la Prairie Collegiate Trotters nipped the Landmark Lasers 27-25 after leading 13-11 at the half. Bill Mulvey paced the Trotters with 13. Gord Gadway added 8. Wayne Penner led the Lasers with 14. The Lasers (coached by Wes Penner) also included Jeri Barkman, Gord Barkman, Dennis Reimer, Leonard Goertzen, Wayne Kroeker, James Giesbrecht, Gordon Reimer, Ken Barkman, Philip Reimer.

        The Brandon Vincent Massey Vikings crushed the Arborg Rockets 89-43 as Rod Lindenberg scored 17, Joe Burgess 15 and Scott Clark 12. The Vikings led 22-5 after one quarter. John Kryzonowski paced the Rockets with 35.

        The Winkler Garden Valley Zodiacs dispatched the Flin Flon Kopper Kings 54-39. The Zodiacs led 25-12 after one quarter and romped. Ron Dyck paced the Zodiacs with 11. Glenn Wiebe added 11, Ernie Berksen 10, Larry Luptak 8 and Garth Jackman 8. Frank Stewart paced the Kopper Kings with 22. The Kopper Kings also included Dennis Norowski.

        In the last quarterfinal, the Hamiota Stars thrashed the Roblin Goose Lake Raiders 47-32 despite training 20-16 at the half. The Stars led 30-24 after three quarters after ripping off a 14-4 run. Allan McNiven led the Stars with 18. Bob Garton added 16. Lyle Gallant paced the Raiders with 16. The Raiders (coached by Mr. Boguski, assisted by Mr. Yeo) also included Ken Jakeman, Roy Allen, Grant Cowan, Allen Menzul, Stan Paradowski, Mel Puritch, Jerry Kozak, Frank Styba, Roland Zimmer, Allen Bewcyk, Brian Watson, Jack McBride and Mel Otke.

        In the semis, the Brandon Vincent Massey Vikings dumped the Winkler Garden Valley Zodiacs 57-35. The Vikings capitalized on their superior size to dominate the Zodiacs in the paint as 6-5 Joe Burgess scored 18, 6-3 Rod Lindenberg 12 and Dwight Kearns 8. Garth Jackman paced the Zodiacs with 23, including 12 free throws in the final quarter. Harold Dyck added 5.

        In the other semi, the Portage Collegiate Trotters edged the Hamiota Stars 43-31 after leading 22-20 at the half. The Stars struggled from the perimeter after the Trotters packed the paint and forced Hamiota to score outside. M Mulvey led the Trotters with 24. Al MacNiven led the Stars with 19. Bob Garton added 3.

In the final, the Brandon Vincent Massey Vikings defeated the Portage Collegiate Trotters 65-42. The Vikings led 11-10 after one quarter and 28-17 at the half. Joe Burgess and Dwight Kearns each scored 17 to pace the Vikings. Rod Lindenberg added 14 and Mike Kearns 11. Ryan Gray led the Trotters with 15. Gord Gadway added 11.
