In the quarterfinals, held in Portage la Prairie, the Flin Flon Hapnot Kopper Kings whipped the Dauphin Clippers 57-29 as Eric McCormick scored 29. The Clippers (coached by Larry McDougal, statistician Joe Plawucki, reporter Rob Malowski) also included Ed Podworney, Stan Lintick, Bob Herman, Mike Bureyko, Bob Pacholak, Reid Birss, Elmer Billows, Peter Hnatiw, Lyle Mullins and Richard Nrgrych.

        The Brandon Vincent Massey Vikings edged the Hamiota Huskies 22-20 in overtime as Ted Gibson hit two free throws with seconds to play. Gibson paced the Vikings with 12.         In the semis, the Brandon Vincent Massey Vikings dumped the Flin Flon Hapnot Kopper Kings 37-32. The Kopper Kings led 8-7 after one quarter. The score was knotted at 12 at the half. The Kopper Kings (coached by Don Stone) led 25-23 after three quarters. Larry Delavau paced the Vikings with 12, Ted Gibson 11, Dwight Kearns 8, all in the final quarter, Joe Burgess 3 and Allan Ross 3. Bill McDonald paced the Kopper Kings with 15, Eric McCormick 6, Bob Ford 5, Dennis Brophy 5 and Bill Eric 2.

        In the other semi, the Portage la Prairie Arthur Meighen Squires dispatched the Winkler Garden Valley Zodiacs x-x (by six).

In the final, the Portage La Prairie Arthur Meighen Squires defeated the Brandon Vincent Massey Vikings 23-22. The Squires led 6-2, 12-10 and 17-13 at the quarters. Doug Fraser hit a pair of free throws to give the Squires a 23-20 lead. Jamie Spack countered with a long jumper for the Vikings but the Squires stalled for the final minute to pull out the win. Doug Fraser led the Squires with 14. Lorne Falk added 7 and Glen Cook 2. Ted Gibson and Dwight Kearns each scored 6 to pace the Vikings.
