In the quarterfinals, held in Brandon, the Lowe Farm Lancers defeated the Teulon Saints 51-38 as Ed Wiebe scored 20, Ralph Groening 13 and Menno Wiebe 8. Willie Stevenson paced the Saints with 16. John Marrington added 12, Bob Barchuk 4 and Grant Foster 4. The Saints (coached by Reverend K.C. Renders) also included Glen Osborne, Bill Childerhose, Barry Clark, Dennis Rogowski and Lyle Campbell.
The Hamiota Huskies edged the Boissevain Broncos 37-34. The Huskies led 14-6 after one quarter and 23-20 at the half. The Broncos led 30-27 after three quarters. Don Tremaine led the Huskies with 11. Ellis Woods added 9 and Les Rankin 8, Dick Coombs 3 and Don Clark 2. The Broncos included Alan Nixon, Stewart Koensgen, John Fast.
The Swan River Swan Valley Tigers dusted the Hartney Hornets 48-27 as Wes Hadekin scored 16, Bob Tigg 14 and George Stadnick 11. Andy Boulanger led the Hornets with 13. Ray Rourke added 6, Keith Glawson 6 and Terry Robertson 2. The Hornets also included Gord Morrow.
In the last quarterfinal, the Shilo Panthers whipped the Selkirk Lord Selkirk Regional Royals 51-31 as Byron Brown scored 21, Keith Hummel 13 and Ron Clarke 6. Larry Oliver led the Royals with 18. Randy Schuster added 4. The Royals also included Ben Cook, Bill Lamb, Ron Greening, Ron Tone, Bill Furdyk, Brian Bosko, Ed Ulzniak.
In the semis, the Lowe Farm Lancers clipped the Shilo Panthers 49-39 after leading 15-12, 28-18 and 41-21 at the quarters. Ralph Goening led the Lancers with 24. Ed Wiebe added 10 and Paul Friesen 4. Keith Hummel paced the Panthers with 13.
In the other semi, the Swan River Swan Valley Tigers dispatched the Hamiota Huskies 61-26. Wes Hadekin led the Tigers with 26. Bob Tigg added 13 and George Stadnick 9. Don Tremaine paced the Huskies with 13. Ellis Woods added 10, Dick Coombs 2 and Les Rankin 1.
In the final, the Lowe Farm Lancers defeated Swan River Swan Valley Tigers 51-46 as Ralph Groening scored 34, Ed Wiebe 11 and Paul Friesen 4. The Lancers led 18-12, 29-27 and 36-34 at the quarters. Wes Hadikin led the Tigers with 21. Bob Tigg added 12.
