The Manitoba Easter tournament was split into two divisions: Winnipeg, and zone winners outside of Winnipeg.
In the quarterfinals, the Lowe Farm Lancers pounded the Souris Spartans 75-16 as Ralph Groening scored 27, Edward Wiebe 21, Peter Gerbrandt 15. Randy Lindbloom and Keith Lovenick each scored 6 to lead the Spartans. Denny McCulloch added 2 and Kevin Bowie 2. The Spartans (coached by Ken Murphy) included Larry Brindle, Wayne Janz, Doug Bell, Terry Stevenson, Ray Kachanoski and Gary McElroy.
The Dauphin Clippers clipped the Selkirk Lord Selkirk Regional Royals 42-35 as Tony Sianchuk hit a pair of critical buckets down the stretch. Sianchuk scored 18 to lead the Clippers, while nabbing 15 boards. Doug Porter added 10 and 12 boards. Walter Pischuk led the Royals with 10. The Royals (coached by John Boluta) also included Larry Oliver, Peter Starodub, Les Zacharias.
The Portage la Prairie Trotters pounded the Hamiota Huskies 47-21 as Jan Green scored 11. Ellis Woods led Hamiota with 11. Don Tremaine added 4. The Huskies also included Ian Randall, Blair Bailey, Dick Coombs, Les Rankin, Gary Stewart, Dan Clark and Bob Hudson.
In the last quarterfinal, the Flin Flon Hapnot Kopper Kings edged the Arborg Athletics 32-30. The Athletics included Gerry Jonasson, Brian Gudmudson, Ron Stadner, U Johnson, B Stadek, K Levenick.
In the semis, the Lowe Farm Lancers nipped the Portage la Prairie Trotters 41-40 as Peter Gerbrand scored 15, Ed Wiebe 11 and Ralph Groening 11. Ian Green paced Portage with 15. Gord Hoover added 14.
In the other semi, the Dauphin Clippers dispatched the Flin Flon Hapnot Kopper Kings 38-31 as Tony Sianchuk scored 11, Dave Lewycky 8 and Doug Porter 8. Bruce West paced the Kopper Kings with 8. Ralph Brown added 5.
In the final, Lowe Farm captured the first B crown in 1964, and the first of its two consecutive titles with a 58-34 thrashing of the Dauphin Clippers. The Lancers took a 22-18 lead at the half as 6-3 Ed Wiebe and 6-3 Ralph Groening dominated the boards and point guard Peter Gerbrandt controlled the tempo. Wiebe paced the Lancers with 24. Groening added 19. John Doucet paced the Clippers with 8 and defended with aplomb. Tony Sianchuk added 7 and Randy Birss 6.
