GIRLS DIVISIONS

The Manitoba High Schools Athletic Association was founded on April 24, 1962 as a result of a government commissioned study of “physical education and recreation in Manitoba.”

Classifications are based on location and school populations in grades 9-12. Quad-A schools are city of Winnipeg schools with more than 500 students, along with Lord Selkirk, Crocus Plains, Vincent Massey (Brandon) Steinbach Regional, Springfield, Stonewall, Garden Valley (Winkler), Northlands Parkway (Winkler) and Portage Collegiate Institute. Triple-A schools are city of Winnipeg schools with a student population of 100-500 in grades 9-12, along with any rural school with a population over 300. Double-A schools are city of Winnipeg schools with a student population of less than 100 in grades 9-12, along with rural schools with a population of 125-300. Single-A schools are rural ones with a student population of less than 125 in grades 9-12.
