        In the final, the Salmon Arm Jewels defeated the Victoria Reynolds Roadrunners 50-29 after leading 31-18 at the half. Bev Smith led the way with 22 points, while Allison Towriss added 20, including a 40-footer at the three-quarter buzzer. Carol Burden added 4 and Shelley Bianco 4. Jewels coach Joe Kupkee told the Salmon Arm Observor that the (37-0) season and 50-game winning streak were unbelievable. “It was an incredible season, one beyond my wildest dreams.” The opposition was often overwhelmed by “the best defence in the girls ranks; a defence that brought us our perfect season. … There is no question about it. Allison is the bet guard and Bev is the best forward in B.C. girls basketball and they led us to a unique achievement – a perfect season. … Susan (Clarke) and Shelley (Bianco) are totally unselfish, dedicated competitors.” Reynolds was led by Tracie McAra’s 13 points.
