In the final, the Victoria Claremont Spartans captured their second consecutive crown by edging the New Westminster Hyacks 29-26 after fighting from behind from a 21-19 deficit in the fourth quarter by ripping off an 8-0 run. Spartans coach Norrie Spencer told the Victoria Times-Colonist that the Hyacks are “a heckuva ball club.” Hyacks coach Bob Gair said it standout defensive play, particularly that of Laurie Atkinson, that proved the difference. “It was that little girl, Laurie Atkinson, that beat us.” Lorna McHattie paced the Spartans with 12.
