        In the final, the Kamloops Red Angels defeated the Mission Roadrunners 28-18 as Dianne Bond scored 11, Marilyn Braaten 6, Donna Anderson 5, Jane Jongschaap 4, Lorna McLeod 3 and Sue Hamilton 3, while Gloria Harrison, Pam Ottem, Ewena Kenward, Karen Kenward and Marlene Millar were scoreless. Shirley Monds led the Roadrunners with 6. Metzler added 6, Elinor Dowling 4, Hall 1 and Kieler 1, while Blume, Buckle, Mills and Pederson were scoreless. Over the next six years, Kamloops made five appearances in the final, winning three and losing two to archrival Salmon Arm. The two interior B.C. teams dominated the girl’s scene through 1960s, winning all the titles between them, with Salmon Arm capturing seven. Mission coach Kareen Way had formerly coached at Kamloops, where she built the program into a power.
