All of us have been friends for so long, and it was all for this moment tonight.” Southridge coach Steve Anderson noted that his troops could have played at single-A level, given the school’s small population. “One of the things I have always said it’s not about me, it’s about our kids. But they told, me they wanted the triple-A challenge and one thing about these kids, every time I trust them, good things always happen and they did today.” Sharks guard Nigel Boyd drilled a trey with 3:51 to play to give Steveston-London a 69-67 lead. So, what an accomplishment for this group of kids to be a part of. Our Grade 12s were great, and as you noticed, that was a Grade 11 that got that huge rebound for us.” Sharks coach Mike Stoneburgh said “I told you that no matter what, I wasn’t going to start crying. The kids never gave up. They fought to the end.” Hunter Hughes led the Storm with 29 on 11-33 from the floor, 1-5 from the arc, 6-11 from the line, 18 boards, 3 assists and 2 blocks.
