On March 7, 1987 the BCSSGBA membership approved an executive motion establishing a third provincial championship tournament for girls’ basketball. Established in 1987-88 as the “under 100” provincial championships for schools with an enrolment in double digits in grades 11 and 12. As of 2019, single-A is for schools with 80 or fewer girls in grades 11-12.
