He collects all the garbage around the hoop and you are not going to find anyone who works harder than he does. Today he cleaned up everything.” Tournament MVP Jesse Stewart said “it feels good to finish off Grade 12 with a provincial championship.” Immaculata coach Dino Gini noted that “unfortunately shots weren’t falling, we got frustrated and got into foul trouble but couldn’t get it back. The season series ended 2-2 but they won this one, and that is disappointing for our seven Grade 12s.” The Knights broke to a 14-2 lead and were never threatened. Jesse led the way and was outstanding. … It’s a great rivalry between these teams and coach Dino does such a great job with that program, they’re aggressive and well-coached. It was another showdown that we just found a way to come out on top of this time.” Owen Klukas, who was later chosen defensive MVP of the tournament, paced the Knights with 16 on 7-12 from the floor, 0-2 from the arc, 2-4 from the line, 13 boards and 2 blocks.
