The Red Devils led 48-44 after three quarters. Noah Reich was chosen player of the game for the Knights. Brendan Rempel paced the Knights with 16. The Knights were forced to overcome a four-point deficit after three quarters. Rempel secured three key rebounds in the final minute and while Drew Schulz scored three 3-point bombs in the final three minutes to seal the win. “It was a tough game for our guys mentally, they came in No. 1 and maybe weren’t expecting to be challenged the way they were,” said assistant coach Ken Reed said. “But the guys came through and did what they had to win.” Toby Eslake was chosen player of the game for the Red Devils after scoring 19. “We came really close against Kelowna Christian and nobody else really came close to touching them,” said Elsay. “At the time it was a painful loss, but looking back, I guess we’ve got lots to be proud of.”

The Lightning trailed by 10 at the half but the opened the second frame with a 14-2 run to take command and held the Wolves to four points in the third quarter. Joel Kleingeltink was chosen player of the game for the Lightning after scoring 29. Larry Cheong was chosen player of the game for the Wolves, who were led by Alex Coote’s 20 points. The Lightning trailed by 10 at the half but came out firing in the third quarter, holding the Wolves to four points while taking the lead and never looking back. In the other semi, the 3rd-seeded Kamloops St. Ann’s Academy Crusaders defeated the 2nd-seeded Kelowna Immaculata Mustangs 99-92 in double overtime. The Crusaders led 21-12 after one quarter and 34-33 at the half. The score was knotted at 56 after three quarters, at 71 after regulation and at 83 after the first overtime. Angad Multani was chosen player of the game for the Crusaders after scoring 39. Dario Gini earned the laurels for the Mustangs after scoring 41. Alex Hart added 38. Knights coach Dino Gini said a bad call provided the difference in the first overtime as guard Alex Hart was intentionally fouled but was instead called for a five-second violation. “It was a wrong call and that is all I can say, everyone in the gym knew they had to foul and somehow this official did not see the obvious, it was disappointing for the kids and I will leave it at that.”
In the bronze medal match, the 2nd-seeded Kelowna Immaculata Mustangs dumped the 4th-seeded Langley Christian Lightning 76-60 after leading 18-17, 36-32 and 54-49 at the quarters. Alex Hart was chosen player of the game for the Mustangs after scoring 32. B.J. Reich was chosen player of the game for the Lightning. Alex Hart paced the Mustangs with 32 points, while Dario Gini added 21. “It was a great weekend and I am so proud of this group of kids,” said Mustangs coach Dino Gini. “We worked so hard and prepared so hard for this tournament and we deserved better. … It was a great weekend, and I’m so proud of this group of kids. They worked so hard and prepared so well for the provincials. And they really did deserve better. They held their heads high and were a class act on and off the court. They finished with a bronze medal, but to me, it was a gold-medal effort.” Lightning coach Matt Van Muyen said “we played better, that is for sure. When we walked into the dressing room, the guys knew they had played hard, so that was satisfying.” Heading into the fourth quarter, Langley Christian trailed by five points before the Mustangs were able to pull away late. “We worked really hard, we just didn’t execute,” Van Muyen said. “We just didn’t finish and missed a lot of shots.” Jason Wright paced the Lightning with 18. The Lightning also included Jae Won Kim, Mark Antoniuk, Mitchell Jarvie, Mike Grypsma, Billy Galvis, A.G. Beeksma, Graham Los, Phillip Kim, Joel Kleingeltink, Ben Macadam and Travis Muller.
In the final, the top-seeded Kelowna Christian Knights dumped the 3rd-seeded Kamloops St. Ann’s Academy Crusaders 72-55 after leading 23-12, 39-27 and 54-43 at the quarters. The Knights captured their fourth title in five years. “I thought they responded to the challenge very well,” said Knights’ assistant coach Ken Reed. “Everything came together for them in the semifinal, and they just carried that over into the final. It was a very good team effort.”
