The Angels led 13-12 after one quarter. All year long I have been on her about not fouling and today she just kept her hands up, she was patient and she didn’t try and block every shot.” But she altered a ton of shots. “It just hit me out there that I have to step up and be as good as I can be because I am probably not going to come off the court.” Said Hart. “I just had to give it my all.” Johnson said “we work really well as a team. No one’s the all-star on our team. We made that our focus.” Gini said that Angels guard Jessica Hanson was “tough to stop. We did our best to try and contain her but I thought we did a good job holding their other players off the score sheet. … It was my first year coaching. It was tough taking over for my Dad, who’s won a lot. Emma Johnson told the Kelowna Capital News that “we had a lot of success in single A, and we knew it would be tough make the step up. It was pretty historical for our little school and it’s nice to be the first ones to get that 2A banner.” Mustangs coach Andrew Gini said Johnson was the difference. “We were down five with a couple of minutes left, and Emma just wasn’t going to lose no matter what, she just took over. She hit six free throws in a row in the fourth quarter and helped carry us to the win. She was amazing again. … (On playing in the Langley Events Centre): “It was definitely something the girls didn’t have any experience with, the size of the facility, all the people, the atmosphere.
