In the play-in game, the Agassiz Eagles defeated the Lake Cowichan Lakers to get into the main draw, held in Princeton, whose gym had burned down mid-season and had to be rapidly rebuilt so that it could host the event.

 In the quarterfinals, held in Princeton, the Vanderhoof Nechako Valley Viqueens defeated the Agassiz Eagles 25-23 as Pam Stockton scored 10, Claudia Nefat 6 before dislocating her knee in a fall, Agatha Mitchell 5, Aileen Serle 2 and Karen Gulbranson 2.

 The Vancouver Little Flower Academy Angels defeated the Houston Wolverines 38-24 as Barb MacDonald scored 14 and Cathy Koch 12. Bonnie Fellers led the Wolverines with 16. The Wolverines (coached by Nic Watkins, manager Donna Parker) also included Linda Vriend, Carol Lieuwen, Lisa Nordquist, Sandra Baggerman, Irene Meeunissen, Hetty Vandermooren, Shirley Ann Vriend, Karen Himech and Joyce Baggerman.

The Princeton Lakettes dusted the Invermere David Thompson Lakers 45-32 as Barb Noonan scored 13 and Debbie Montgomery 13.

In the last quarterfinal, the South Slocan Mount Sentinel Wildcats nipped the Winfield George Elliott Coyotes 42-41. Dorthy Schwaiger led the Coyotes with 22.

In the semis, the Vancouver Little Flower Academy Angels dispatched the Princeton Lakettes x-x

In the other semi, the Vanderhoof Nechako Valley Viqueens dusted the South Slocan Mount Sentinel Wildcats 44-24 as Agatha Mitchell scored 21, Pam Stockton 9, Karen Gulbranson 6, Sandy Kelly 2, Aileen Serle 2, Beth Van Winkle 2 and Bonnie Hoek 2.

 In the bronze medal match, the Princeton Lakettes defeated the South Slocan Mount Sentinel Wildcats x-x.

 In the final, the Vanderhoof Nechako Valley Viqueens captured the crown with a 38-24 victory over the Vancouver Little Flower Academy Angels after leading 20-12 at the half. Tournament MVP Agatha Mitchell paced the Viqueens with 17. Sandra Kelly added 10, Karen Gulbranson 4, Bonnie Hoek 4, Linda Hoek 2 and Aileen Serle 1. Viqueens coach Doug Harshbarger told the Nechako Chronicle that “after Claudia Nefat’s mishap in the first game, the girls said they were going to win the next two for their fallen comrade. That’s the kind of girls the N.V.S.S. student body had playing for the Viqueens this year, not just winners, but a team that N.V.S.S. can be proud of.” Sheila Wingham paced the Angels with 12.
