In the quarterfinals, the Lethbridge Sir Winston Churchill Griffins stomped the Calgary John Diefenbaker Chiefs 64-32 as Lana Simpson scored 25, Susan Tokariuk 14, along with 11 boards, Shari Frier 8, and Kathy McCune 9 boards. The Griffins hit 50% from the floor. Churchill led 33-15 at the half. The Chiefs included Kathy Dustan.

        The Drayton Valley Frank Murdoch Warriors spanked the Bonnyville Roadrunners 42-23.

        The Medicine Hat Crescent Heights Chinooks dispatched the Ponoka Broncs (then the Hi-Aces) 40-33 as Treva Butler scored 15. Lorrie Jess led the Broncs with 15. Diane Butterfield added 10. The Broncs also included Beth Hoar, Shirley Scheeler, Kathy Vold.

        In the last quarterfinal, the Camrose Trojanettess edged the Edmonton Archbishop MacDonald Marauders 36-33 after leading 19-13 at the half. Sherry Knutsvig paced the Trojans with 13. Cheryl Bichel added 11. The Marauders were befuddled by a zone defence, which was prohibited in Edmonton city play. Marauders coach Ron Kutney told the Edmonton Journal that “Edmonton teams give away 10 points whenever they faced a team from elsewhere in the province as a consequence. Linda Smith led the Marauders with 11. Janet Bradshaw added 7 and Annette Sanregret 7. The Marauders (coached by Kutney, assisted by Jean Kadylo) also included Cathy Mills, Darcy Goodwin.

        In the semis, the Lethbridge Winston Churchill Griffins dusted the Drayton Valley Frank Murdoch Warriors 50-28 after leading 43-8 at the half. Lana Simpson paced the Griffins with 17. Susan Tokariuk added 14, Kathy McCune 6 and Diane Colwill 6.

        In the other semi, the Medicine Hat Crescent Heights Chinooks nipped the Camrose Trojanettes 31-30.

        In the bronze medal match, the Camrose Trojanettess dusted the Drayton Valley Frank Murdoch Warriors 44-27.

In the final, the Lethbridge Sir Winston Churchill Griffins defeated the Medicine Hat Crescent Heights Chinooks 42-31 after leading 24-15 at the half. Lana Simpson paced the Griffins with 20 points and 13 boards. Susan Tokariuk added 8, along with 8 boards, Sherrie Frier 6, along with 12 boards, and Kathy McCune 6.
