In the quarterfinals, held in Ponoka, the Sherwood Park Archbishop Jordan Scots clipped the Ponoka Broncs 53-39. The Broncs led 8-7 after one quarter and 24-22 at the half. The Scots led 36-29 after three quarters. Dan Lacroix paced the Scots with 17. Tim Ryan added 14, Vince Diduck 9 and Le Souliere 8. Shaun Johnston paced the Broncs with 11. Doug Bennett added 9, Grant Gordon 7, Eldon Raab 5 and Ron Andreychuk 4. Ponoka coach Elmer Kusiek told the Red Deer Advocate “it’s too bad we couldn’t have met in the final. … But the draw is made up two or three years in advance and this is the way it turned out.” The Broncs hit 9-42 from the floor and 21-35 from the line. Kusiek said “we just didn’t have anyone hot. They played great defence but we couldn’t buy a basket. … And we did just what we didn’t want to do for a couple of minutes – let them run.” The Broncs (coached by Kusiek) also included Mark Stafford.

        The Coaldale Kate Andrews Gaels torched the Beaverlodge Royals 71-24 as John Wright scored 19 and Brian Huff 18. Peter Farris led the Royals with 10. The Royals also included Wes Waters, Maurice Meyer.

        The Medicine Hat McCoy Colts whipped the Olds Spartans 76-29 as Warren Ottenbreit scored 29, Greg Lambert 11 and Mike Ferre 10. Jim Berreth led the Spartans with 10. The Spartans also included Hugh Godwin.

        In the last quarterfinal, the Bonnyville Roadrunners dusted the Camrose Trojans 80-59 as Eric Gladue scored 28, Terry Gladue 21 and Erik Mawer 19. Doug Roth led the Trojans with 15. Ron Leibel added 12. The Trojans also included Dale Pilger.

        In the semis, the Sherwood Park Archbishop Jordan Scots stomped the Coaldale Kate Andrews Price 60-37 as Dan Lacrois scored 22. Brian Huff led the Pride with 10.

        In the other semi, the Medicine Hat McCoy Colts edged the Bonnyville Roadrunners 64-61.

        In the bronze medal match, the Coaldale Kate Andrews Gaels whipped the Bonnyville Roadrunners 74-49. The Roadrunners included Eric Gladue, Terry Gladue, Erik Mawer.

In the final, the Sherwood Park Archbishop Jordan Scots defeated the Medicine Hat McCoy Colts 86-48 as Tim Ryan scored 19, Vince Diduck 16, Len Souliere 14 and Rob Frost 12. The Scots finished (35-3) on season. They held foes to under 30 points in 23 games.
