In the quarterfinals, held in Sylvan Lake, the Irvine Tigerettes defeated the Fairview St. Thomas More Kodiaks 47-20 as Phyllis Gertner scored 16, Nairn Hargrave 10 and Holly Franz 10. Bernice Reuther led the Kodiaks with 10. Janice Heck added 6.

        The Sylvan Lake H.G. Cody Lakers edged the Vermilion St. Jerome’s Spartans 27-24. The Spartans led 9-8 after one quarter. The score was knotted at 15 at the half. The Lakers led 19-16 after three quarters. Janice Brassard paced the Lakers with 13. Marion Munson added 6, Bonnie Anderson 4, Deb Britton 2 and Ellen Walker 2. Florence Bahry paced the Spartans with 6. Kathy Bodurka added 6 and Barb Yarmuch 6. The Spartans also included Helen Codlen.

        The Ryley Rebels thrashed the Cremona Cougars 46-22 as Mona Knudslien scored 22. Karla Fairbairn paced the Cougars with 6. The Cougars also included Debbie Rose.

        In the last quarterfinal, the Coalhurst Crusaders dusted the Westlock St. Mary’s Angels 39-26 as June Bartz scored 16 and Debbie MacLaren 8. Jackie Dumouchel led the Angels with 9. Kathy Mitchell added 7. The Angels also included Pauline Fredette.

        In the semis, the Sylvan Lake Lakers nipped the Irvine Tigerettes 31-29 in overtime. The score was knotted at 27 after regulation. Janice Brassard paced the Lakers with 13, including a free throw that forced overtime with 17 seconds to play. Joan Priel added 6, Bonnie Anderson 3 and Marion Munson 4, while stifling Tigerette star Nairn Hargrave on the defensive end of the floor. Phyllis Gertner led the Tigerettes with 10. Carol Sauter added 6, Wendy Lien 6 and Nairn Hargrave 4.

        In the other semi, the Ryley Rebels edged the Coalhurst Crusaders 39-37 as Mona Knudslien scored 20 and Lorna Stauffer 8. June Bartz paced the Crusaders with 20.

        There is no evidence that a bronze medal playoff occurred.

        In the final, the Ryley Rebels defeated the Sylvan Lake H.G. Cody Lakers 40-33 as Mona Knudslien scored 16, Lee Gudmundson 12 and Lorna Stauffer 9. Janice Brassard led the Lakers with 20. Bonnie Anderson added 8, Joan Priel 3 and Deb Britton 2.
