In the final, the top-seeded Stirling Lakers defeated the Foremost Falcons 54-42. “We had played them four times and lost all four games, so we wanted to change up our game plan a bit,” Falcons’ coach Ray Rumpel told the Lethbridge Herald. “We tried to slow things down — they like to run and gun. We were hoping to frustrate them. The style was successful. We wanted to give ourselves a chance to win and we did that. … We wanted to give ourselves a chance to win and we did that. It was certainly our goal to get back to the provincial final again this year. We lost in the provincial final last year as well. It wasn’t surprising we would face the Lakers, we knew they would be the squad to beat.”
