In the final, the Lundbreck Livingstone Sabres defeated the Stirling Lakers 108-81. The Sabres broke to an 11-2 lead. “We have played Stirling twice before this year and we knew their strengths,” said Sabres’ coach Roger McAdam. “We used a zone press to slow them in getting the ball up the court. That permitted our big men to get back and set up defensively so that we could put pressure on their outside shooting.” McAdam added that veteran Kent McCulloch and Bill Myers were outstanding, as was 6-6 grade 11 post Todd McCartney. “Todd played his best ball for us all year in the past couple of weeks. He really was at a peak at the right time.” Todd McCulloch paced the Sabres with 31. McCartney added 27, Bill Myers 24 and Gerald Erickson 16. Jason Schnoor led the Lakers with 18. Rob Edwards added 16 and Brad Temrick 13.
