In the quarterfinals, held in Fairview, the host St. Thomas More Kodiaks defeated the Calgary Christian Cougars x-x. The Cougars (coach Kevin Francisco, coach Stan Mah, manager Rob Wagenaar, manager Dave Brosh) included James Groot, Dave Verhoef, Ken Bouwaman, Chris McCollister, Eric Nederlof, Rob Drost and Marvin Grasmeyer.
The Stirling Lakers defeated the Rosalind Raiders 58-55 as Greg Atwood scored 18 and Robbie Eaves 15. Pat Stang paced the Raiders with 26. The Raiders also included Doug Staldecker, Brent Nielson, Darwin Gerber, Darryl Langille, Scott Cunningham, Dale Gerber, Doug Fosen, Brian MacDonald, Dan Kuck, Mark Bowie, Pat Stang, Grant Stang and Brian Urkow.
The Cessford Cougars defeated the Fort Vermilion Falcons? X-x.
In the last quarterfinal, the Vegreville St. Martin’s Saints defeated the Sherwood Park Strathcona Christian Academy Eagles x-x.
In the semis, the Fairview St. Thomas More Kodiaks dumped the Stirling Lakers 65-54 as Paul Bioskovits scored 24. Ritchie Steed paced the Lakers with 14. Greg Atwood added 13 and Mike Hicken 13.
In the other semi, the Vegreville St. Martin’s Saints defeated the Cessford Cougars 68-48.
In the bronze medal match, the Stirling Lakers thrashed the Cessford Cougars 72-46 as Trevor Archibald scored 18 and Robbie Eaves 12. Stirling led 36-21 at the half.
In the final, the Fairview St. Thomas More Kodiaks defeated the Vegreville St. Martin’s Saints 69-57 as Paul Blaskovitz scored 30 and Laverne Gorham 24.
