In the final, the top-seeded Calgary St. Francis Browns defeated the 2nd-seeded Edmonton Jasper Place Rebels 54-46. The Browns appeared to take command early but the Rebels rallied within 40-39 in the fourth quarter before St. Francis pulled away with an 8-0 run. “They’re a remarkable team, well skilled, aggressive and extremely smart,” Browns coach Claire Mitton told the Red Deer Advocate. “They put a lot of pressure on us and took us out of our rhythm. We usually have a great transition game, but that wasn’t easy today. Every basket was with extreme effort. But our five starters are all going to play post-secondary next year and they showed their composure. … We’ve been hunted all season, but I told the girls toward the end let’s be the hunted and go out and get what we want.” Emma Kary paced the Browns with 17. Brianna Fehr added 15 and Summer Masikewich 14. Haily Weaver led the Rebels with 13. Sydney Fedick added 11 and Morgan Mudge 10.
