In the quarterfinals, held in Stony Plain, the Calgary Western Canada Redmen defeated the Leduc Tigers 62-52 as Jill Clark scored 14 and Lisa Bacigalupi 11.

The Red Deer Lindsay Thurber Raiders clipped the Taber W.R. Myers Saints x-x. The Saints (coached by Kirsty Brown) included Carolyn Jensen, Heather Chipman, Linda Johnson, Dana Aldridge, Tammy Rombough, Kara Francis, Michele Taylor, Janelle Sheen, Andrea Johnson, Alison Schneider, Deanna Bulloch, Marcy Sebok and Kendra Bullock.

The Sherwood Park Salisbury Sabres defeated Calgary Bishop Carroll Cardinals 83-48. The Cardinals (coached by Gerald Fijal) included Lisa Klotz, Jodi Wiltse, Fiona Waters.

In the last quarterfinal, the Lethbridge Collegiate Institute Clipper Queens dumped the Edmonton St. Joseph’s Saints 78-41 as Candice Kleibrink scored 28 and Jaylene Baker 22. The Saints included Monique Davey.

        In the semis, the Lethbridge Collegiate Institute Clipper Queens defeated the Calgary Western Canada Redmen 66-52 as Jaylene Baker scored 31. Candice Kleibrink added 14.

        In the other semi, the Sherwood Park Salisbury Sabres clubbed the Red Deer Lindsay Thurber Raiders 72-40. Cindy Friesen paced the Raiders with 10. Raiders coach Sandre Goheen told the Red Deer Advocate that “we didn’t believe we could win and we played like it.”

        In the bronze medal match, the Calgary Western Canada Redmen defeated the Red Deer Lindsay Thurber Raiders 76-72. Corie Gunderson paced the Raiders with 24. Jodine Jacobs added 14, Susan Feil 10 and Cindy Friesen 10. Raiders coach Sandre Goheen told the Red Deer Advocate “that was probably our best game of the season. The girls were determined not to give in without a fight and with a little more time, who knows what would have happened.” The Raiders (coached by Goheen) also included Nan Swanson, Tracey Mallet, Lori Sibbald, Heidi Van Loon, Judy Kwan, Darcy Kruger, Allison Stewart.

        In the final, the Lethbridge Collegiate Institute Clipper Queen’s defeated the Sherwood Park Salisbury Sabres 57-46. “The girls told me last after we lost that they would win it all this year,” Clipper Queens coach Larry Baker told the Lethbridge Herald. “They obviously believed in themselves and that was important.” The Clipper Queens trailed by six as Jaylene Baker and Candice Kleibrink picked up three fouls apiece. “At one time we had three Grade 11s, one Grade 12 and a Grade 10 on the floor,” said Baker. “They all came through. It was definitely a team effort.” But in the second half, “we had a change in defence and more confidence in ourselves. We just went out all a bundle of nerves and didn’t play well at the start.” Baker led the Clipper Queens with 31. Kleibrink added 14. “In the final Jaylene sat out eight minutes in the second hall in foul trouble. Then she came in and turned it around for us.” The Clipper Queens finished (31-1) on the season.
