In the quarterfinals, held in Medicine Hat, the Calgary Queen Elizabeth Knights dumped the Medicine Hat Kwahommies 48-37 as Laura Beuhning scored 20 and Cathy Crusch 12. Joanna Van Dam paced the Kwahommies with 15. The Kwahommies also included Angel Wahl, Fay Luscombe, Mona Swain, Dorothy Gill, Ingrid Woafle, Gigi Ulland.

The Grande Prairie St. Joseph’s Ceinahs defeated the Edmonton Eastglen Blue Devils 48-40 as Carolyn McDonald scored 18 and Cathy Gorman 10. The Blue Devils (coached by Janice Elaschuk) included Darlene Anderson, Debbie Brusnyk, Simone Ardema.

The Lethbridge Collegiate Institute Clipper Queens nipped the Calgary E.P. Scarlett Lancers 41-39. The Lancers included Judy Medlicott.

In the last quarterfinal, the Sherwood Park Salisbury Sabres defeated the Edmonton Strathcona Lords 55-51. The Lords included Heather Abbott, Carol Welk.

In the semis, the Calgary Queen Elizabeth Knights defeated the Grande Prairie St. Joseph’s Ceinahs 48-46 in overtime as Laura Buehning scored 17 and Heather McKay 15. Carolyn McDonald led the Ceinahs with 25. Cathy Gorman added 9. The Knights led 14-12, 28-24 and 36-33 at the quarters. Knight Heather McKay hit a field goal at the buzzer to knot the score at 42 and force overtime. Ceinahs coach Patrick McDonald told the Grande Prairie Herald Tribune that McKay “was a tough one. It was good game, back and forth, and the best game of the tournament. Both teams were evenly matched. We were the only two good teams in the province.”

In the other semi, the Lethbridge Collegiate Institute Clipper Queens nipped the Sherwood Park Salisbury Sabres 32-31.

In the bronze medal match, the Grande Prairie St. Joseph’s Ceinahs clubbed the Sherwood Park Salisbury Sabres 57-30. The Ceinhas finished (29-1) on the season. The Sabres included Joan Hill, Barb Prince, Tammy Sears.

In the final, the Calgary Queen Elizabeth Knights defeated the Lethbridge Collegiate Institute Clipper Queens 57-43 as Laura Beuhning scored 32. The Knights finished (23-0) on the season. Tammy Garrett and Sandre Bevan each notched 12 to pace the Clipper Queens.
