In the quarterfinals, held in Medicine Hat, the Lethbridge Collegiate Clipper Queens whipped the Calgary St. Francis Browns 55-30 as Debbie Borzel scored 14, Sue Gash 13 and Val Orr 12. Cathy Waite led the Browns with 10.

        The Edmonton Jasper Place Rebels defeated the Calgary Earnest Manning Griffins 45-38 as Deena Mitchell scored 11. Rebels post Susan Mitchell injured her knee and was unable to play further in the tournament. Terry Thomson led the Griffins with 18.

        The Calgary St. Mary’s Saints dispatched the Sherwood Park Salisbury Sennits 43-36 as Lise LeBlanc scored 14. Marlene Fawcett led the Sennits with 8.

        In the last quarterfinal, the Edmonton Bonnie Doon Lancers dispatched the host Medicine Hat Co-Eds 43-18. The Lancers had led 20-17 after three quarters but the Kwahommies relinquished a 23-1 run in the final quarter after star Shirley Walker fouled out. Debbie Dedels led the Lancers with 15. Walker led the Co-eds with 6. The Co-Eds also included Donna Morley.

        In the semis, the Lethbridge Collegiate Institute Clipper Queens stomped the Edmonton Jasper Place Rebels 52-36 as Debbie Borzel scored 13, Val Orr 10 and Sue Gash 10. Chris Cummings led the Rebels with 11.

        In the other semi, the Calgary St. Mary’s Saints dispatched the Edmonton Bonnie Doon Lancers 48-35 as Lise LeBlanc scored 14 and Frieda Mennes 12. Debbie Dedels led the Lancers with 12. Donna Logan added 10.

In the final, the Lethbridge Collegiate Institute Clipper Queens defeated the Calgary St. Mary’s Saints 49-34 to capture their third crown in four years. The Clipper Queens led 12-7, 25-15 and 43-24 at the quarters. Debbie Borzel paced the Clipper Queens with 16. Val Orr added 8 and Sandra Knight 8. Freida Mennes led the Saints with 10. Missy Christie added 6 and Lise LeBlanc 5. The Clipper Queens finished (18-4) on the campaign.
