In the quarterfinals, the host Lethbridge Collegiate Clipper Queens dumped the Vegreville Vagabonds 45-21 as Dianne Bunnage scored 21 and Sharon Trieber 13. The Clipper Queens led 25-10 at the half. Ruth Lucow paced the Vagabonds with 11. The Vagabonds also included Stella Trimble.

 The Barrhead Cubettes clocked the Vauxhall Vikings 29-10 as Margie Hawkey scored 17. Jean Higgins paced the Vikings with 7.

 The Lacombe Ramettes stomped the Sedgewick Centralettes 57-20 as Myrna Olafson scored 16, Barb Johnson 15, Lorraine Ross 12, Lorraine Thompson 10 and Barb Leiske 4.. Sandra Miller paced the Centralettes with 5. The Centralettes (coached by Mr Hill) also included Sandra Peterson, Barbara Cameron, Carol Borgel, Anne Harris, Anita Palmer.

 In the last quarterfinal, the Medicine Hat Crescent Heights Chinooks dispatched the Beaverlodge Comettes 50-32 as Jo’hnena Lamarsh scored 15. Pat McQueen added 12. Jeanette Hotte paced the Comettes with 13. Anna Waters added 11

In the semis, the Lethbridge Collegiate Institute Clipper Queens defeated the Medicine Hat Crescent Heights Chinooks 46-24 as Dianne Bunnage scored 13. Sharon Trieber added 11. Susan Bayer paced the Chinooks with 13.

 In the other semi, the Barrhead Cubettes dispatched the Lacombe Ramettes 43-35 as Lorna Bredo scored 12. Myrna Olafson paced the Ramettes with 16. Ann Morehouse added 6 and Maureen Thompson 6. The turning point occurred when Thompson fouled in the third quarter with the Ramettes leading. The Cubettes promptly ripped off an 8-0 run. The Ramettes had led 13-11 after one quarter and 23-22 at the half. The Cubettes led 32-23 after three quarters. The Cubettes hit 15-52 (.290) from the floor and 13-24 from the line. The Ramettes hit 12-32 (.380) from the floor and 11-20 from the line.

In the final, the Lethbridge Collegiate Institute Clipper Queens defeated the Barrhead Cubettes 43-30 to capture their second consecutive provincial title. Sharon Trieber paced the Clipper Queens with 17. Leslie Holland added 9. Marge Hawkey paced the Cubettes with 7. The Clipper Queens led 19-11 at the half.
