In the semis of the four-team provincial draw, held in Barrhead (alternatively reported as being held in Westlock), the Taber St. Mary’s Auroras defeated the Wetaskiwin Sabres 45-23 (also reported as 45-22) as Teresa Sekura scored 28.

        In the other semi, the Barrhead Cubettes dispatched the Rolling Hills Rockettes 26-19.

In the bronze medal match, the Rolling Hills Rockets edged the Wetaskiwin Sabres 35-31.

In the final, the Taber St. Mary’s Auroras defeated the Barrhead Cubettes 38-25. The Auroras rallied from an 8-0 deficit to take a 12-10 lead at the half. Teresa Sekura led the Auroras with 15. Elaine Goruk added 9 and Pat LePage 8. Months later, LePage lost four fingers from her right hand while working in the meat department of a supermarket when she reached into the food hopper to collect some scraps and inadvertently pressed the start switch.
