No province-wide playoffs. The Alberta Amateur Basketball Association declared the winner of the southern playoffs as the provincial champ. The Alberta High Schools Athletic Association had not yet passed a bylaw regarding girls’ playoffs.

        The Calgary Herald reported that Calgary Queen Elizabeth won the interscholastic title. Queen Elizabeth (coached by Miss Hawkyn) include Lenora Ridgedale, Shirley Malin, Caroline Pedgormey, Joan Fowler, Jane Van Brumelin, Eva Mikkelson, Elaine Epton, Eileen Tuff, Bonnie Pilling, Sharon Rhodes, Lorna Malcolmson and Inge Johansen.

        In the opening round of the southern Alberta championships, the Nobleford Noble Central Bladettes dumped the Pincher Creek Mustangettes 40-20 as Eva Kormas scored 19, Marie Konynenbelt 11, Norah Cheil 5, Emmelkamp 2, Black 2 and I Vose 1, while Titsing, Haroers, DeJong, L Vose and Davey were scoreless. Davilyn Burns led Pincher Creek with 8. Joanne White added 4, Almer 3, Kettles 2, Heywood 2 and Scott 1, while Eckland, Beer, Hammond and Layton were scoreless.

        The Claresholm Brahmas nipped the Lethbridge Collegiate Institute Clipper Queens 24-22 as Jean Hansen scored 14, Lin Cochlan 6, Grannum 2 and Lemmon 2, while Gown, Whitehead, Standford, Francasis and Johnston were scoreless. Frances Gow led the Rams with 7. Judy Urch added 6, Donalda Pozzi 5, Vosburgh 3 and Larson 1, while DeVoss, Frederick Zeman and Stanko were scoreless.

        In the second round, the Medicine Hat Co-eds clipped the Claresholm Brahmas 27-19 as Ann Hashizume scored 10, Eunice Marson 10, Flo-Elle Craig 2, McLeod 2 and Meula Barnie 2 and Kormosy 1, while R Hashizume, Hall, Terme Brucker, Peters and Greenstein were scoreless. Jean Hansen paced Claresholm with 9. Sylvia Lehman added 7, Donna Granum 2 and Maureen Gown 1, while Cochlan, Whitehead, Johnson, Standford and France were scoreless.

The Nobleford Noble Central Bladettes clocked the Masinasin Zeniths 21-13 as Eva Kormas scored 9, Marie Konynenbelt 4 and Dorothy Emmelkamp 4, Norah Chell 2 and Bernice Harbers 2, while Dena Titsing, Priscilla Black, Louise Vanden Broeke, Irene Vos and Sylvia Daly were scoreless. Marg Vanbrock led the Zeniths with 7. Rosalie Wachtler added 3, Anna Thielen 2 and Carol Herath 1, while Lorraine Audet, Chloe Herath, Donna Losey, Carol Losey, Patsy Thelan and Bye were scoreless.

        In the third round, the Masinasin Zeniths eliminated the Lethbridge Collegiate Institute Clipper Queens 22-18. The Clipper Queens (coached by Marjorie Clark) included Frances Gow, Judy Urch, Donalda Pozzi, Myrna Vosburgh, Carol Larsen, Blanche Zeman, Melanie Stanko, Leslie Frederics, Evelyn De Voss and Judy Kylo.

        The Claresholm Brahmas eliminated the Pincher Creek Mustangettes 36-33 as Jean Hansen scored 20.

        In the fourth round, the Masinasin Zeniths eliminated the Claresholm Brahmas 40-17.

        In the fifth round, the Masinasin Zeniths earned a berth in the finals by defeating the Medicine Hat Co-eds 23-15.

        In the semis, the Nobleford Noble Central Bladettes eliminated the Medicine Hat Co-eds 25-20 as Eve Kormas scored 18.

        In the final, the Nobleford Noble Central Bladettes edged the Masinasin Zeniths 15-14. The Zeniths led 8-6 after one quarter. The Bladettes led 10-8 at the half and 14-9 after three quarters. Eva Kormas paced the Bladettes with 11. Marie Konynenbelt added 2 and Dorothy Emmelkamp 2. Marge Vanbrock paced the Zeniths with 7. Lorraine Audet added 6 and Carol Ann Heirath 1.
