No province-wide playoffs were held because the Alberta Schools Athletic Association had not yet passed bylaws governing girls’ playoffs. The Alberta Amateur Basketball Association had reclaimed its girl’s trophy and because no substitute trophy had been “put up for competition,” the Alberta Schools Association said there wouldn’t be a provincial champ. The amateur association, in turn, declared the Southern League playoff champion the provincial champ as well as no northern squad challenged the eventual southern champ Lethbridge Collegiate Institute Clipper Queens.

        In the opening round, the Medicine Hat Co-eds whipped the Vulcan Royals 41-4. Royal guard Pat Parris hit a bucket late in the third quarter to break the drought. Anne Hashizume paced the Co-eds with 14. Doreen Leach added 8 and Liz Cunliffe 8.

        The Lethbridge Collegiate Clipper Queens dispatched the Nobleford Noble Central Bladettes 27-17 as Marianne Snowden scored 10 and Judy Urch 6. Harmina Molenaar paced the Bladettes with 8. Eva Kormas added 7.

        In the second round, the Masinasin Zeniths defeated the Medicine Hat Co-eds 26-24 as Lorraine Audet hit the winner at the buzzer. Phyllis Schmidt paced the Zeniths with 13, Lorraine Audet 6, Pauline Pahl 2, Rosalie Wachtler 2 and Marjorie Vanbrock 2. Anne Hashizume paced the Co-Eds with 10. Liz Cunliffe added 8. The Co-Eds (coached by Gary DeBoer) also included Joyce Hulmes, Eunice Mattson.

        The Lethbridge Collegiate Institute Clipper Queens dusted the Granum Pandas 30-12 as Laurane Kane scored 13, Marianne Snowden 6 and Rosemary Wuotila 4. Karen De Maeve led Granum with 6. Edna-Mae Russell added 2, Pat Jacques 2 and Francis Anderson 2.

        In the third round, the Granum Pandas eliminated the Medicine Hat Co-Eds 21-14 as Lois Baird scored 11, Marjorie Mason 5 and Fay Anderson 4. Eunice Mattson led the Co-Eds with 6. Liz Cunliffe added 3 and Anne Hashizume 3.

        The Nobleford Noble Central Bladettes eliminated the Vulcan Royals 25-16.

        In the fourth round, the Nobleford Noble Central Bladettes eliminated the Granum Pandas x-x as Eva Kormas scored 12 and Harmina Molenaar 8. Edna Mae Russell led Granum with 8. Lois Baird added 6.

        The Lethbridge Collegiate Institute Clipper Queens qualified for the final by defeating the Masinasin Zeniths 34-19 as Judy Urch scored 9, Joyce Golla 8 and Laurane Kane 7. Phyllis Schmidt led the Zeniths with 7. Lorraine Audet added 6.

        In the semis, the Nobleford Noble Central Bladettes nipped the Masinasin Zeniths 29-28 as Eva Kormas scored 13, Harmina Molenaaar 11 and Norma Chiel 6. Phyllis Schmidt led the Zeniths with 14. Lorraine Audet added 10.
