The Edmonton city playoffs were a seven-team tourney, called a “round-robin,” though not all teams played one another. The order of finish was Eastwood (3-1); Separate (3-1); Commercial (which included Edna Roberts), Westgate, Victoria, Normal and Strathcona. Eastwood was declared the champs because they’d scored 42 and allowed 19 in their four games, while Separate had scored 19 and allowed 11 in the their four contests.

In the finals, the Cardston Cougarettes defeated the Barons Chinooks 49-25; 35-21 (2g-0).

        In game one, the Cougarettes prevailed 49-25 after leading 20-14 at the half. E Dowdle paced the Cougarettes with 18. M Hinman added 10, M Bradshaw 10, G Sloan 4, Smith 4, P Glenn 2, while J Carlson and Z Glenn were scoreless. M Kittleson paced the Chinooks with 8. Rita Lunde added 6, E Weiler 5, C Kittleson 4 and M Schmaltz 2, while R Raaschou, E Pertel, B Crow, L Irvine and M Chester were scoreless.

        In game two, the Cougarettes took the series with a 35-21 win. The core of the Cougarettes also competed in the Alberta intermediate ranks under the name of the Cardston Shooting Stars.
