The Calgary Springbank Phoenix nipped the Myrnam Barons 26-25. The Barons included Wendy Stelmaschuck.
The Morinville Georges P. Vanier Coyotes defeated Devon 51-39 as Louise Carignan and Lillian Morin each scored 15. Devon included Shelley Miller.
In the last quarterfinal, the Rimbey Spartans clubbed Bow Island 49-34 after leading 12-3, 24-10 and 36-24 at the quarters. Corrine Cadry paced the Spartans with20. Gwen Tkacik added 10 and Glenda Robinson 9. Donna Lane led Bow Island with 12.
In the semis, the Calgary Springbank Phoenix nipped the Picture Butte Sugar Queens 39-38. The Sugar Queens led 13-11 after one quarter and 21-19 at the half. The Phoenix led 32-25 after three quarters. Cathy Bergen-Henengouwen paced the Sugar Queens with 17. Laural Hanna added 10.
In the other semi, the Morinville Georges P. Vanier Coyotes dispatched the Rimbey Spartans 56-52 in overtime as Lillian Morin scored 25. Corinne Cadre paced the Spartans with 26. Jane Warta added 8 and Gwen Tkacik 8.
In the bronze medal match, the Rimbey Spartans edged the Picture Butte Sugar Queens 45-41 as Corinne Cadre scored 23, Glenda Robinson 13 and Gwen Tkacik 9. The Spartans led 10-4 after one quarter and 24-20 at the half. The Sugar Queens led 34-31 after three quarters. Cathy Bergen-Henengouwen paced the Sugar Queens with 16. Shelley Shimek added 11, Brenda Bartha 6 and Lori Bianchini 6.
