The Medicine Hat McCoy Colettes defeated Camrose Lutheran College Vikettes 43-38 as Laverna McMaster scored 21, Loretta Doore 8 and Jo-Anne Wiedenan 6. Liane Lysen paced the Vikettes with 14. Yvonne Johnson added 8 and Elizabeth Mansour 8. The Vikettes (coached by Cliff Mattice) also included K Olsen, M Skettring, Ellen Skanderup, S Olafson, Anita Morck, E Van Druten and E Saugen.
The Fort Saskatchewan Stingers pounded the Grande Prairie Pandairs 37-16 as Terrie Speer scored 12, Elouise Moro 8, Gloria Demanchuk 7 and Sharon Duggan 6. Donna Henning led the Pandairs with 11. The Tomahawks also included Bette Tissington, Rose Stepanko, Alene Bohnet.
In the last quarterfinal, the Elk Point F.G. Miller Crusaders dispatched the High River Mustangs 32-28 as Brenda Panikiw scored 7, Valerie Modin 6 and Barbara Miller 5. Rosemarie Broderick led the Mustangs with 11. The Mustangs also included Pat Edey, Pat McDougall.
In the semis, the Coaldale Kate Andrews Larks crushed the Elk Point F.G. Miller Crusaders 30-17 as Dixie Dow scored 14, Leona Voth 9, Minnie Van Dieren 6 and Linda Voth 6. Marsha Lorenson led the Crusaders with 6. JoDee Samuelson added 4 and Barbara Miller 4.
In the other semi, the Fort Saskatchewan Stingers dumped the Medicine Hat McCoy Colettes 40-26 as Elouise Moro scored 16, Terry Speer 9 and Sharon Duggan 6. Loretta Doone paced the Colettes with 6. Melina Sehn added 4.
In the final, a reversal of the 1967 final, the Fort Saskatchewan Stingers dispatched the Coaldale Kate Andrews Larks 39-32 as Terry Speer scored 16 and Elouise Moro 14. Leona Voth led the Larks with 12. Minnie Van Dieren added 8 and Gisela Mainzer 6. The Stingers hit 60% from the floor, while the Larks hit 30%.
