In the quarterfinals, the 4th-seeded Fort Saskatchewan John Paul II Patriots defeated the 12th-seeded Cold Lake Assumption Crusaders as Gordon Lee scored 23 and James Procyk 16. Tim Stewart led Assumption with 12. Shaun Dalgeish and Sean Keefe each added 8. John Paul II led 29-20 at the half.

The top-seeded Lethbridge Immanuel Christian Eagles thrashed the 9th-seeded Condor David Thompson Voyageurs 83-50 as Stephen Bekkering scored 18, Mark Lowen 14 and Jordan VanDyk 14. Steven Maki and Tyler Rauch each scored 11 to pace David Thompson. Immanuel Christian led 42-25 at the half. The Voyageurs also included Darrel Jans.

The 3rd-seeded Vauxhall Vikings crushed the 11th-seeded Three Hills Royals 94-68 as Andrew Geerligs scored 31 and Darcy Johnson 20. “They were a team that was playing with a lot of momentum and lots of confidence in front of a packed gym,” assistant coach Todd Ojala told the Vauxhall Advance. “We played an excellent game right from the start and everyone got a chance to play, which was nice at provincials.” Stephen Adams paced Three Hills with 30. Darren Adams added 17. Vauxhall led 43-28 at the half.

The 2nd-seeded Calgary Christian Cougars dumped the 7th-seeded Sherwood Park Strathcona Christian Eagles 68-55 as Cameron Dodd scored 20 and Yemi Marcus 17. Derek Sparrow led Strathcona Christian with 17. Dave Unrau added 12.

In the semis, the top-seeded Lethbridge Immanuel Christian Eagles whipped the 4th-seeded Fort Saskatchewan John Paul II Patriots 68-35 as Ryan Veldman scored 19 and Stephen Bekkering 16. Travis Letwin and Gordon Lee each scored 12 to lead John Paul II. Immanuel Christian led 35-21 at the half.

In the other semi, the Calgary Christian Cougars crushed the 3rd-seeded Vauxhall Vikings 80-58 as Lance Verhoeff scored 32 and Cameron Dodd 17. Mike Dell led Vauxhall with 14. Andrew Geerligs added 13. Calgary Christian led 33-25 at the half and opened the second half with a 19-3 run. “They had a 6’8” player (Lance Verhoeff) that scored 32 points on us. We had Mike (Dell) who was doing a good job on him but he got in foul trouble,” Vikings assistant Todd Ojala told the Vauxhall Advance. “He had two fouls in the first five minutes of the game and his fourth right after halftime. Their big guy played practically the whole game while Mike had to watch half the time.”

In the bronze medal match, the 3rd-seeded Vauxhall Vikings defeated the 4th-seeded Fort Saskatchewan John Paul II Patriots 68-64. Vauxhall opened with a 10-0 run and led 41-20 at the half. “I think this was the most successful Vauxhall basketball team in high school ever,” assistant coach Todd Ojala told the Vauxhall Advance. “It was an all-around good team with a great group of boys. We were very happy with the community support where the bleachers were always full. … We kind of put it on cruise control but they (John Paul) shot fantastic. I’d say 80 per cent of their points was off of three-pointers. But we got the job done when we needed it to get done.” The Vikings finished 25-12 on the campaign.

In the final, the top-seeded Lethbridge Immanuel Christian Eagles defeated the 2nd-seeded Calgary Christian Cougars 74-48. Immanuel Christian led 41-24 at the half. Immanuel Christian finished 30-4 on the season.
