In 1990, they’d won a Triple-A crown but had opted to drop down a level because of a declining school population. The Cobras trailed by 14 early but rallied within 8 at the half. They knotted the score with seven minutes to play. The lead then changed hands eight times before the Cobras moved ahead by 5 with 1:30 to play. Ryan Hall paced the Cobras with 43. Shane Hooker led the Lakers with 36. “Ryan Hall was just outstanding,” said Willow Creek coach Dennis Simpson. “He just came to the fore when it counted. He’s such a great playmaker and scorer.” Simpson added Jason Toone did a good job containing Hooker to 36. “You can’t discount what Jason Toone did for us. Hooker can score 60 points against you before you know it.”
