In the quarterfinals, held in Devon, the Picture Butte Sugar Kings thumped Devon 58-33 as Kevin Reiter scored 18 and Allen Woknitz 17. The Sugar Kings led 14-10, 31-18 and 43-27 at the quarters. Craig Johnson paced Devon with 14. Rod Nisi added 14.

The Myrnam Barons dumped the Onoway Sneakers 42-33.

The Slave Lake Roland Michener Lakers edged the Hanna J.C. Charyk Hawks 43-40. The Hawks included Ed Walsh, Lloyd Rauqust

In the last quarterfinal, the Calgary Springbank Phoenix edged the Rimbey Spartans 59-54 as Randy Sweet scored 17 and Mike DeGraff 17. The Phoenix hit 21-28 from the line, while the Spartans were 6-10. Dale Barr paced the Spartans with 21. Wally Grabb added 13. The Spartans (coached by Duncan Prescott) also included Earl Slack, Pete Boothman, Nels Grinde.

In the semis, the Picture Butte Sugar Kings edged the Myrnam Barons 34-31. The Barons led 25-14 at the half and 28-24 after three quarters. Kevin Reiter paced the Sugar Kings with 16. Allen Wocknitz added 10.

In the other semi, the Calgary Springbank Phoenix dispatched the Slave Lake Roland Michener Lakers .

In the final, the Calgary Springbank Phoenix defeated the Picture Butte Sugar Kings 47-46. The Phoenix suffered four consecutive losses midway through season but then went undefeated and finished (19-5) on the season. The Phoenix led 16-13, 23-20 and 39-34 at the quarters. Dave Newman paced the Phoenix with 22. Kevin Reiter and Allan Wocknitz each scored 15 to lead the Sugar Kings.
