The Falcons (coached by Harlan Cahoon) included Brent Burton, R Hainsworth, Phil Kuttger.

In the quarterfinals, held in Sherwood Park, the Stirling Lakers dumped the Edmonton Austin O’Brien Crusaders 57-43 as Max Zaugg scored 24 and Darwin Siewert 15. The Crusaders included Rick Loggin, Pat O’Conner, Clarence Hinse, Rick Tomiuk, Peter Lavarato.

        The Calgary Forest Lawn Titans clipped the Camrose Trojans 54-42.

        Westlock defeated Lac La Biche x-x.

        In the last quarterfinal, the Ponoka Broncos dusted the Sexsmith Sabres 56-29 as Bryan Martin scored 14, Marcel Comeau 13 and Dan Schickerowski 12. The Broncs led 30-14 at the half. Jim Duda paced the Sabres with 13. The Sabres also included Don Lozeron, Dale McFarland, Kelly Shannon.

        In the semis, the Stirling Lakers defeated Westlock 57-38.

        In the other semi, the Calgary Forest Lawn Titans dispatched the Ponoka Broncs 56-43 (also reported as 58-43) as Jeff Arling scored 25. Dale Hoar led the Broncs with 10. Marcel Comeau added 9. Ponoka coach Wayne Lloyd told the Red Deer Advocate “we had a disastrous first quarter.” The Broncs fell behind by 16, closed to within four in the fourth quarter but tired down the stretch.

        There is no evidence a bronze medal match was played.

        In the final, the Calgary Forest Lawn Titans defeated the Stirling Springbank Eagles 51-50 in overtime as Ken Prusky scored 14. The Lakers had an 8-point lead with two minutes to play but were promptly whistled for six fouls, which allowed the Titans to tie at the game at 47 and force overtime. Gordon Pengilly paced the Lakers with 13. Max Zaugg added 12, Paul Zaugg 10 and John Christensen 10.
