In the quarterfinals, held in Camrose, the Medicine Hat McCoy Colts clipped the Pigeon Lake Playboys 44-31 as Gerry Marshall scored 21, Jim Moser 10 and Ken Rose 7. The Playboys (coached by K Anderson, manager B Anderson) included Robert Hettler, Dennis Lammie, B Meaver, F Reglin, B Monaghan, L Ganske, L Walker, R Kasor, Don Gamble, J Lind and Ray Vangyn.

        The Vulcan Royals edged the Grande Prairie Totems (then the Schooners) 59-55 in double overtime. The Schooners included Randy Sargeant, John Stojan, Clarence Breitkruetz, Gary Merritt, Ron Miller.

        The Cardston Cougars pounded the Vermilion Marauders 80-29.

                In the last quarterfinal, the St. Albert Paul Kane Blues whipped the Stettler William E. Hays Wildcats 65-35 as Hans Zylstra scored 18, Pat Kane 16, Bill Connaughton 16 and Keith Ahronson 11. Terry Chapman led the Wildcats with 8. Duncan Wells added 8 and Randy Schiffner 6. The Wildcats also included Larry Watson, Keith McKay.

        In the semis, the Medicine Hat McCoy Colts clocked the St. Albert Paul Kane Blues 57-39 as Gerry Marshall scored 12, Jim Osgood 12 and Jim Moser 10. Bill Connauton led the Blues with 13. Hans Zylstra added 10.

        In the other semi, the Cardston Cougars whipped the Vulcan Royals 77-40.

        In the final, the Medicine Hat McCoy Colts edged the Cardston Cougars 42-39 as Gerry Marshall scored 13, Jim Moser 12 and Jim Osgood 7. Cardston led 25-24 at the half.
