In the opening round of the double-knockout Southern League tournament, the Nobleford Noble Central Blades defeated the Mountain View Chiefs 42-38.

        The Coutts Wolves clipped the Claresholm Brahmas 61-39.

        In round two, the Jefferson Jokers eliminated the Mountain View Chiefs 60-37.

        The Coutts Wolves clipped the Carmangay Comets 58-43.

        The Readymade Cobras defeated the Jefferson Jokers 70-57 as Jerry Virginillo scored 32 and Don Doram 16.

        In round three, the Readymade Cobras defeated the Nobleford Noble Central Blades 62-51 as Jerry Virginillo and Don Doram each scored 19.

        In round four, the Nobleford Noble Central Blades eliminated the Claresholm Brahmas 68-59. . The Brahmas (coached by D.W. Sullivan) included Norm Grannum, Gary Johnson, Lester Matt, R Whitehead, Gordon Rice, G Olmstead, G Thomas, L Michalovsky, Charles Pederson, Cecil London, Allan Rice and Roger Anderson.

        The Jefferson Jokers eliminated the Carmangay Comets 60-39. The Comets included W West.

        In round five, the Nobleford Noble Central Blades eliminated the Jefferson Jokers 54-45.

        In the first semi, the Readymade Cobras edged the Coutts Wolves 42-40.

        In the semis, the Coutts Wolves eliminated the Nobleford Noble Central Blades 58-37.

        In the final, the Coutts Wolves stunned the Readymade Cobras 41-36 as Dave Theodore scored 16 and Pete Roseworn 12. Jerry Virginillo paced the Cobras with 20.

        As in was Readymade’s first loss, it necessitated a playoff game. In that playoff final, the Readymade Cobras edged the Coutts Wolves 44-41 as Jerry Virginillo scored 21, Sonny Miller 2 and Dan Doram 11. Pete Roseworn led Coutts with 19. Dave Theodore added 8.

        In the Northern region quarterfinals, the Camrose Trojans clocked the Wetaskiwin Sabres 74-30 after leading 18-3, 40-14 and 54-12 at the quarters. Joe Shermack led the Trojans with 27. Jerry Galenza added 13, Bill Poole 10, Harold Krause 8, Bob McWhirter 6, Lloyd Horn 3, Eric Schloss 3, Sandy Burgess 2 and Rolf Lund 2. Janzen paced Wetaskiwin with 12. Sandahl added 8, MacEachern 4, Farewell 4, Maki 1 and Bunnin 1, while Tone, Moore, Sodeman and Barnhill were scoreless.

        In the Northern semis, the Camrose Trojans defeated Camrose Lutheran College 25-25; 96-37 (Total: 121-62). …………………………………………………… In game one, the teams played to a 25-25 draw. Joe Shermack led the Trojans with 20.

        In the provincial finals, the Readymade Cobras dispatched the host Camrose Trojans 59-44; 53-25 (2g-0).

        In game one, the Cobras prevailed 59-44 after leading 36-18 at the half and 55-44 after three quarters. Don Doram paced the Cobras with 17. Fiorie D’Andrea added 14, Sonny Miller 12 and Jerry Virginillo 10. Jerry Galenza led the Trojans with 20. Bill Poole added 10, Joe Shermak 8, Sandy Burgess 2, Eric Schloss 2, Harold Krause 1 and Lloyd Horn 1.

        In game two, Readymade completed the sweep with a 53-25 win to capture their third provincial B title in four years. The Cobras led 25-10 at the half and 37-15 after three quarters. Don Doram paced the Cobras with 24. Jerry Virginillo added 18. Jerry Galenza led the Trojans with 10. Joe Shermak added 10, Bill Poole 4 and Rolf Lund 2.
