The 4th-seeded Medicine Hat Mohawks clipped the 5th-seeded Sherwood Park Bev Facey Falcons 71-57. “They were a quality team,” Falcons coach Hal Souster told the Sherwood Park-Strathcona County News. “They were probably the most disciplined team we have played all year. They score several baskets right at the end of the shot clock which is tough because you will have played some great defence and then give one up right at the end. We did a few things to slow them up a bit and that seemed to help. … The problem was that we just couldn’t find it offensively. I don’t know what it was.” Tyler Roth led the Falcons with 18. In the final, the top-seeded Edmonton Harry Ainlay Titans dispatched the 2nd-seeded Edmonton Archbishop O’Leary Spartans 82-71. After defeating O’Leary in the Edmonton city finals, “we thought we would be playing them again and we were right,” Titans coach George Hoyt told the Edmonton Sun. “It was a back and forth game. We had a couple of fairly big leads but we couldn’t put the Spartans away. They wouldn’t quit.” O’Leary coach Ray Felice said “we were down by 12 points at one stage and we got back to three points hear the half. Then we fell behind and pulled up again. By the end, we were down by six points or so and we couldn’t get any closer.” Andrei Halusko paced the titans with 20. Awak Tiom added 15, Barento Mohammed 14, Aher Uguak 14 and Marvin Washington 10. Kuiir Bulgak paced the Spartans with 30. Julien McFadden added 14 and Wyatt Beaver 12.
