        In the bronze medal match, the top-seeded Edmonton Harry Ainlay Titans thrashed the 6th-seeded Edmonton Jasper Place Rebels 91-67 after leading 23-14, 40-35 and 68-50 at the quarters. “It’s been pretty hard to get motivated for that bronze-medal game in the past, but this year the guys were determined to go out on a winning note,” said Ainlay coach George Hoyt. After a close first half, Ainlay broke things open by outscoring J.P. 51-32 over the final two quarters, demonstrating the firepower that made them the top-ranked team in Alberta. Forward Keith Gerdes led the way for Ainlay with 22 points, while Denzel James, playing the final game of his spectacular high school career before joining the Alberta Golden Bears next season, scored a game-high 24 points for the Rebels. The win provided a measure of redemption for the Titans, who won the Edmonton Public League championship and entered Provincials as the No. 1 overall seed. “I’m really proud of our guys, though, they had an outstanding season and that one game is only one of two losses in the whole season and it just happened to happen on the wrong night, unfortunately,” added Hoyt.
