In the quarterfinals, held in Leduc, the 7th-seeded Raymond Comets edged the 2nd-seeded Calgary Sir Winston Churchill Bulldogs 110-109 as Brad McKenzie drilled a jumper with 10 seconds remaining on the clock. The Comets led 62-53 at the half. “It could have gone either way. They were really tough and shot really well from the three-point line and I didn’t think we had one of our better shooting games,” Comets coach Jim Ralph told the Lethbridge Herald. “We missed some key foul shots that let them get back into the game but the kids showed really great determination and never quit.” The Bulldogs (coached by Bill Mitchell) included Brad Bolton, Steve Pauls.

The Lethbridge Collegiate Institute Rams defeated the St. Albert Paul Kane Blues 89-66.

The Edmonton Ross Sheppard Thunderbirds stomped the Spruce Grove Panthers 93-58.

In the last quarterfinal, the Edmonton Harry Ainlay Titans defeated the Calgary Western Canada Redmen 67-56. The Redmen (coached by Wayne Thomas) included Andy Cameron, Blair McDermid, David fry, Brad Ehlert, Jason Nike.

In the semis, the Edmonton Ross Sheppard Thunderbirds defeated the Raymond Comets 83-81. “We missed a lot of baskets we should have made. We just didn’t score when we needed to,” Comets coach Jim Ralph said.

In the other semi, the Edmonton Harry Ainlay Titans clipped the Lethbridge Collegiate Institute Rams 93-52.

In the bronze medal match, the Lethbridge Collegiate Institute Rams defeated the Raymond Comets 93-87. “It really is icing on the cake because I think most of people had Raymond pegged as favorites in the tournament,” Rams coach Rick Homan told the Lethbridge Herald. The Comets led 51-45 at the half. Chris Newman led the Rams with 26. Seth Adler added 17 and Sean McClimons 16. Richard Bohne paced the Comets with 26. Todd Heggie added 24. Our team felt like they had their eyes set on the championship and after that it was a real emotional letdown for them,” said Comets coach Jim Ralph. The Comets also included Dustin Karren, Brad McKenzie, Scott Sheen, Chayston Harker, David Hardy, Wade McKenzie, Tim Dudley, Travis Heggie, Jason Leavitt and Jim Garside.

In the final, the Edmonton Ross Sheppard Thunderbirds defeated the Edmonton Harry Ainlay Titans 70-63 as Ian Minnifee scored 29, Colin Walters 16 and Lema Faz 13. Jules MacNeil paced the Titans with 22. Minnefee told the Edmonton Journal that “Jules McNeil sparked them with his outside shooting and he really got them going. But again, we cam out four points down (at the half) and came back. Thunderbirds coach Bob Fowlis said “I think the biggest difference was that we have a few more experience players and it showed down the stretch.”
