In the quarterfinals, held in Edmonton, the Raymond Comets dusted the Edmonton O’Leary Spartans 73-53 as Gary Williams scored 29, Jerry Laszynsky 17, Wallace Tollestrup 13, Danny Court 6, Stewart Robinson 4, Glen Marshall 2 and Bob Court 1, while Lloyd Fairbanks, Bob Miller and Bryan Wilde were scoreless. Tom Solyom paced the Spartans (coached by George Caffaro) with 28. Gil Wosnack added 11, Blemmins 7, Soloman 7, Larry Flemming 2 and Vanchand 1, while Pegery and Turiock were scoreless. The Comets led 13-6, 33-26 and 55-41 at the quarters.

The Edmonton Victoria Composite Redmen edged the Lethbridge Catholic Central Cougars 56-53 after leading 12-9 after one quarter and 31-21 at the half. The score was knotted at 43 after three quarters. Wayne Lovatt paced the Redmen with 18. Len Priebe added 14 and Bob Dawson 10. Alec Dudas paced the Cougars with 17. Aurelio Delbello added 9, Bill Harbuz 8, Steve Mychasiuk 8, Hubert Federskell 6 and Greg Royer 6, while Nick Papp, Calvin Poirier, George Lazzaretto, Rick Credico and Demers were scoreless. Cougars coach Hans Schamp called it “their worst game of the year.” The Cougars were managed by Duane Taylor and Jim Tratch.

The Calgary St. Francis Browns dispatched nipped the Edmonton Jasper Place Rebels 55-53 as Ed Leonard scored 21, Tom Forzani 13 and John Pierzchalski 12. Brian Hart paced the Rebels with 14. Bill Stevenson added 11, Mike Frisby 10 and Terry Cairns 10. The Rebels (coached by Johnny Bright) also included Curt Wolsey, Bill Evans.

In the last quarterfinal, the Calgary Western Canada Redmen defeated the Edmonton Ross Sheppard Thunderbirds 42-35 as Jim Lathrop and Brit Johnson each scored 14. Jerry Diakowicz added 11 and Peter Ireland 11. Brian Johnson led the Thunderbirds (coached by John Wydareny) with 14. Don (Dan?) Walker added 11.

In the semis, the Calgary St. Francis Browns nipped the Raymond Comets 57-56.

In the other semi, the Calgary Western Canada Redmen edged the Edmonton Victoria Composite Redmen 55-50.

In the bronze medal match, the Raymond Comets clipped the Edmonton Victoria Composite Redmen 54-43. The Redmen (coached by Glyn Wynn) included Wayne Lovatt, Len Priebe, Bob Dawson, Doug Poholoko, Pete Bowes.

In the final, the Calgary St. Francis Browns defeated the Calgary Western Canada Redmen 59-53 as Ed Leonard scored 23 and Tom Forzani 11. The Browns led 17-2, 33-17 and 48-34 at the quarters. Peter Ireland paced the Redmen with 16. Jerry Diakowitz added 14.
