The city of Edmonton hosts its first postseason tournament, ostensibly as part of bid to encourage a province-wide tournament.

       In the semis, the Strathcona Lords edged the Victoria Redmen 28-24 as Simpson scored 12, Molloy 8, Cox 4 and Jones 4, while Hislop, Asbridge, Smitten and Kyle were scoreless. Dave Kushner led the Redmen with 10. Salto added 4, Don Blue 4, Barootes 4 and Gerry Wilson 2, while Davidson, Mark Chobotuck and Diin were scoreless.

       In the other semi, Eastwood pounded Westglen 40-21 as Crockett scored 9 and Danylowich 8. James led Westglen with 6.

       In the bronze medal match, the Victoria Redmen defeated Westglen 43-36 as Don Blue scored 14, Gerry Wilson 13, Dave Kushner 9, Barootes 4 and Saite 3, while Mark Chobotuck, Davidson, Mark and Diin were scoreless. Gordon Retallack paced Westglen with 16. Flemming added 10, Allen 7 and Ritchie 2, while Aitken, Spaner, MacKinnon, Bennett, Field, James, Nickerson and Christie were scoreless.

       In the Edmonton final, the Strathcona Lords thrashed Eastwood 47-19 as Simpson scored 15, Cox 14, Jones 6, Hislop 6 and Molloy 4, while Asbridge, Smitten and Kyle were scoreless. Younie and Danylowich each scored 7 to pace Eastwood. Bayrack added 3 and Ward 2, while Dean, Noon, Crockett and Sheckter were scoreless.

The ABAA divides conducts competitions in A and B divisions. Schools may enter teams in both divisions. But players playing in one tournament cannot play in the other.

In the five-team Calgary city league, Crescent Heights emerged undefeated in the regular season. Other teams included Central A and Central B, and Western B.

       Cardston wins the regular season schedule but withdraws from the playoffs in a dispute over player eligibility.

       In the Southern semis, the Magrath Zeniths defeated the Lethbridge Collegiate Institute Bobcats x-x; 38-12 (2g-0). The Bobcats included Tommy McCready, Mitton, Scott, Kyle, Greenway, Reber, Tuftland, Duval, Shackleford.

       In the other semi, the Hillspring Panthers dispatched the Raymond Comets x-x; 46-28 (2g-0). In game two, Hillspring prevailed 46-28 after leading 18-8 at the half. The Comets (coached by Dean Rolfson) included

       In game two, the Zeniths prevailed 41-24 to complete an A/B division sweep and win their sixth A title in seven years. The score was knotted at 6 after one quarter. The Zeniths led 15-9 at the half and 27-15 after three quarters. Bernard Critchfield paced the Zeniths with 22.
