Midway through the season, the Alberta Amateur Basketball Association announced that it had received a protest from a coach (who went unnamed) arguing that a referee was “inefficient” because he had only fouled out five of his team’s eight players.
The Calgary league featured six teams: Crescent Heights, Technical, Commercial, Central, Western Canada and Mount Royal. Crescent Heights emerged as the champs. Crescent Heights included Rowan Wright, Murney Alexander, Jimmy Gordon, Johnny Aldrich, Ewing Smith, Jack Stevenson, Stewart Duncan, Jack Yates and Jack Hoskins.
The Zeniths went undefeated in Southern League play with a 12-0 record.
In their Southern League regular season finale, the Magrath Zeniths thrashed the Raymond Comets 41-19. The Comets finished as league runners-up and thus, provincial runners-up.

There were no postseason playoffs but in subsequent exhibition games, which were deemed by the Alberta Basketball Association as “friendlies,” the Magrath Zeniths defeated the Calgary Stadium Intermediates 30-29 as Lee Harker scored 9, Ralph Harker 8, Don Harker 4, Toomer 2 and Merkley 1, while Bennett, Miller and Lloyd were scoreless. Zabula led Calgary with 12. Jenkins added 6, Christie 4, McLaughlin 4, Swiffer 2 and Amer 1, while Stewart and Stickle were scoreless.
The Zeniths then defeated Edmonton 51-34.
In April, 1933, Cardston, Magrath, Lethbridge and Raymond representatives voted to create a Southern Alberta High School Athletic Association.
