In the Southern League finals, the Raymond Comets defeated the Magrath Zeniths 33-30; 31-28 (Total: 64-58).
In game one, the Comets defeated the Zeniths 33-30. The Comets led 14-7 after one quarter but Everett Evans rallied the Zeniths, trimming the margin to one in the second half but Grey Kirkham hit several critical buckets down the stretch as Raymond pulled out the win. Grey Kirkham paced the Comets with 18. Booth Card added 5, Nalder 4, Webster 1 and Galbraith 1, while Weaver, Van Orman, King and Woolley were scoreless. Fred Turner paced the Zeniths with 15. Gerald Harker added 12, Sabey 2 and Everett Evans 1, while L Harker, Coleman, Lee Meldrum, Woolsey and Card were scoreless.
In game two, the Comets took the series with a 31-28 win. The Zeniths led 9-8 at the half. Webster led the Comets with 14. Grey Kirkham added 8, Booth Card 8 and Nalder 1, while Weaver, Galbraith, Van Orman, King, Woolley and Hague were scoreless. Lee Meldrum led the Zeniths with 8. Fred Turner added 7, Everett Evans 4 and Gerald Harker 4, while L Harker, Card, Woolsey, Coleman, Sabey and Bingham were scoreless.
No challenges were made from other parts of the province so the Alberta Amateur Basketball Association declared the Comets the provincial titlists.
