        In the final, the Montmorency Nomades defeated the Édouard Montpetit Lynx 71-65. “It never gets boring,” said elated Nomades coach Guillaume Giroux. League rookie of the year Elise Caron scored 18 in the first half as the Lynx built a 40-33 lead. Montmorency rallied back in the second half and finally took the lead at 55-54 on an Annie Boutet layup with five minutes to play. Jessica Saintot dominated the boards down the stretch, while rookie Annick Charles hit 5-6 from the line in the final two minutes to ice the win. “Charles really stepped up for us after Christmas and she took a huge step today,” said Giroux. “There is no doubt in my mind she’s the best player in the league.” Jessica Saintot led the Nomades with 19 points on 8-11 from the floor, 2-7 from the line, 7 boards and 4 blocks. Annick Charles added 16 on 3-8 from the floor, 8-10 from the line and 3 boards. Laurence Rivest scored 9 on 3-7 from the floor and 3-3 from the line.
