The provincial playoffs were held one week after the CCAA national tournament. John Abbott earned a berth at nationals as regular season champs, while Vanier was selected as a wild card. The delay in holding postseason playoffs was explained as being a function of a one-month holiday break in CEGEPs from mid-December to mid-January.

In the semis, the College Nord-Ouest (Rouyn-Noranda) Astrelles Gaillards dispatched the John Abbott Islanders 93-89 in overtime as Luce Mercier scored 21, Jacinthe Duval 17 and Michelle Poupore 8. With the score tied at 79 in regulation, Jane Bullock missed a free throw with seconds to play. “One lousy foul shot could have won it,” Islanders coach Chris Hunter told the Montreal Gazette. Nord-Ouest coach Yves Charlebois said pressure defence and runouts proved the difference. “We knew we could stay with them if we could keep our five starters in the game against their five. True, we don’t have much depth, but we didn’t need it tonight.” The Islanders (coached by Chris Hunter) included Janet Hylland, Jane Bullock, Lynn Noftle, Cathy Brabant.

In the other semi, the Maissoneuve Vikings dispatched the Vanier Cheetahs x-x. The Cheetahs (coached by Alex Sidorenko) included Annette Kiss, Carolyn Marriott, Linda Cesaratto.

In the final, the Maissoneuve Vikings clocked the College Nord-Ouest (Rouyn-Noranda) Astrelles Gaillards 97-74 as Helene Cowan scored 25 and Alexandra France 14. The Vikings opened with 21-2 run and led 52-35 at the half. Michelle Poupore paced the Astrelles Gaillards with 21.
