In the final, the Ahuntsic Indiens stomped the Vanier Cheetahs 85-66 to win their first provincial title. Ahuntsic ran out to a 10-4 lead to start the game and Vanier quickly found itself down by as much as 14 in the first quarter. Cheetahs forward Malcolm Henderson had two dunks and dominated on the inside with 13 first-half points, keeping Vanier within striking distance. One of Henderson’s dunks came at the halftime buzzer to make it 31-27 Ahuntsic. But the second half was all Ahuntsic as Vanier couldn’t offer up consistent transition defence and the Indiens’ running game turned it into a rout. Ahuntsic opened up with a 12-4 run to start the half and every time Vanier scored, Ahuntsic found a way to respond. Ahuntsic made back-to-back buckets behind the back passes for an easy Tshibuy layup to push the score to 66-48. Frederick Dure, playing on a bad ankle, had several transition buckets in the third quarter to give his team to a 60-46 lead heading into the fourth. Things got better from there for the Indiens, and more frustrating for the Cheetahs, as Tshibuy barreled to the basket for another easy layup to make it 70-54.
