In the Montreal semis, Dawson clubbed Maisonneuve 85-60 as Alan Borrie scored 23, Willie Follete 23 and Sloan Cathcart 14. Blues coach Richie Spears told the Montreal Star that “they slowed it down and stayed really close in the first half. But we hit a few lucky baskets near the end of the half and then we pressed to open it up in the second half.” Rolland Brissette scored 17 to lead Maisonneuve (coach Alex Sidorenko). Jean-Guy Morin added 15. Maisonneuve (coach Alex Sidorenko) also included Nick Hamilton.

       In the other Montreal semi, Rosemount edged Vanier 64-63.

In the Montreal (A division) final, Dawson defeated Rosemount 73-53 as Allan Borrie scored 25, Willie Follette 21, Brent McPhee 11 and Sloan Cathcart 10. Christian Viger led Rosemount with 14. Claude Lafond added 14 and Pierre Benoit 13. Rosemount led 35-33 at the half. Rosemount also included Raynald Voyer, Jean Ratelle.

In the provincial final, the Dawson Blues defeated Sherbrooke 69-48 as Willie Follette scored 26 and Allan Borrie 10. Robert Vallarand paced Sherbrooke with 21.
